Announcing a new collaboration between The Booksmith & Two Sisters Bar and Books
The teams behind Two Sisters Bar and Books and The Booksmith are joining forces to helm The Alembic in San Francisco’s historic Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.
Under the new team, The Alembic will continue to feature thoughtful craft cocktails, draft beer and wine, and coffee and tea. Also on offer will be seasonal, approachable American plates, desserts, and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
The new Alembic will honor the bar’s reputation as a destination for visitors and a haven for Haight locals, revive the traditions of community care, loving hospitality, well-crafted cocktails and food offerings, while building on the natural symbiosis of the brands: Two Sisters Bar and Books, beloved former Hayes Valley cocktail bar, and The Booksmith, Legacy Business bookstore and Haight Street institution. Syncing Booksmith & The Bindery’s spirit of innovation and Two Sisters’ legacy of great taste and exceptional service, the teams look forward to creating a warm, inviting, and exciting atmosphere for the curious.
Christin Evans (Booksmith/Bindery) and Mikha Diaz (Two Sisters) have been looking for the right opportunity upon which to collaborate for some time—they are thrilled to undertake this project together.
After a brief closure to complete light design modifications, The Alembic will return in May of 2018 with more space to mingle, discover, and stay a while. The Alembic will be open Tuesdays through Sundays. Late night kitchen service will be available in the fall.
