Beth Reichmuth / I'm Jay, Let's Play at THE BINDERY

Wednesday, July 19, 2017 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Booksmith is pleased to welcome Beth Reichmuth to The Bindery to celebrate I'm Jay, Let's Play!

I'm Jay, Let's Play, by Beth Reichmuth and Nomy Lamm, is a sweet story about Jay's morning at preschool playing with friends. Jay loves playing in the kitchen, driving dump trucks, twirling in skirts and crashing tall towers. Jay, Ren, Finn, Casey and Riley are dynamic kids with exciting ideas -- probably a lot like any preschooler you know and love.

I'm Jay, Let's Play models gender fluidity as a normal and delightful part of the lives of young children. Gender expression can be playful. It can be dynamic. It can be joyful. And in I'm Jay, Let's Play -- it is.

Beth Reichmuth is a writer and preschool teacher who also spends her time lazily hiking and crafting notes to send to her friends via snail mail.  She lives with her soon-to-be-wife, Sarah, in San Francisco, California.  She is passionate about LGBT families and gender-expansive children being supported and celebrated as an integral part of their schools and communities.   I’m Jay, Let’s Play is her first children’s book.

Nomy Lamm is a writer, musician, voice teacher and illustrator who lives in Olympia, Washington with their partner Lisa, their dog Dandelion, their cat Pearl Buttons, and lots of plants. Nomy loves listening to the wisdom of their environment, their body, and their community, and works to make the world more fun and fair. For more information check out
