Although his new book should not have been published, and should not be read, we reluctantly welcome Lemony Snicket on December 5. From five to eight, you’ll have a chance to meet and chat with Mr. Snicket, and have copies of “Who Could That Be at This Hour?” signed. It’s quite possible there are worse things to do with your time.
Treats, surprises, Snicket and you.
Lemony Snicket had an unusual education and a perplexing youth, and now endures a despondent adulthood. His previous published works include the thirteen volumes in A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Composer Is Dead, and 13 Words. His new book, “Who Could That Be at This Hour?” is the first question in All The Wrong Questions, a new series being made available only to the general public. He is represented in all matters literary, legal, and social by Daniel Handler, author of the Printz Honor-award winning Why We Broke Up.
The fine print: this is a meet-and-greet signing; there will not be a reading. Your are very welcome to have as many copies of the new book signed, as well as previous books. We will have copies of a number of Lemony Snicket titles available at the store (including the now-classic holiday wonders, The Latke Who Couldn’t Stop Screaming and The Lump of Coal, perfect for gift-giving), but you may also bring a few Snicket books from home if you’d like to have them signed. You may take photographs; it is possible we won’t be able to accommodate posed photos, due to time constraints, but we’ll play that by ear. If you have questions or comments for Mr. Snicket, you are encouraged to remember them and offer them to him when you meet.
