April's theme is Home. There's no place like it:

We know it, Dorothy knew it, and you know it too,

so grab your favorite book about Home - whatever that means to you.

Is it the place you were born? Is it the first place you ever lived on your own?

A person? A feeling? Is there a book about your Home that just nails it?

Bring a book about Home that you love, but you're willing to part with.

After three rounds of conversation, you'll swap it for a new favorite in a white

elephant-style free-for-all.

Special guest: D.A.Powell, poet, professor, award-winning poet

(most recently of Useless Landscape, or A Guide for Boys).

One student on the website describes Powell as "a god among

men! Not only is this man a genius, but he is adorable, looks sexy on the back of his books,

and is the greatest teacher in all of academia land! He has great fedoras that match his suits,

and knows everything about film, literature, and mankind."

That said, they only rated him 2.3 out of 5 for "easieness," so you'll want to bring your A game.

Dinner, open bar, free books, marvelous company, author conversation

and MORE for $25.
